do_ypcall clnt_call rpc unable to receive, connection refused error occurs when due to some malfunctioning of network information service (NIS).

It happens sometime when you you are trying to make any changes in working environment so you may encounter ‘RPC: Unable to receive; errno = Connection refused’ error, It happens sometime due to failure of NIS yp service demon.

yp service restart using “/etc/init.d/ypserv restart” command may help to resolve this issue.
